Hidden Spire is a collaboration

Hidden Spire is a project created within the Old Fire Station in central Oxford. This unique building houses two separate organisations, Arts at the Old Fire Station and Crisis Skylight Oxford, under one roof.

We are a public arts centre:

  • presenting new work across art forms in our theatre, gallery, shop and studios

  • supporting artists to make and showcase their work

  • including people facing tough times as audience, volunteers, trainees, staff and artists.

We do this by focussing on:

  • good quality relationships

  • encouraging creativity and risk-taking

  • offering a public space which is welcoming to all.

We are the national charity for homeless people. We are dedicated to ending homelessness by delivering life-changing services and campaigning for change. Crisis Skylight Oxford provides:

  • one-to-one support to address each person's individual needs. Our aim is to help people leave homelessness behind for good, whatever their situation.

  • practical and creative workshops and formal learning in a supportive and inspiring environment, helping homeless people to restore their wellbeing, build their basic skills, gain qualifications and raise their aspirations.

  • a café training scheme, building people's confidence and supporting them into employment.

Together we offer a public space which is shared by very different people. It helps to break down barriers and promotes solidarity in Oxford.
